Bass Team Places Second over 65 Boats

Lewis County BASS Nation High School and Junior Fishing Team placed second in the Tennessee BASS Nation Pickwick Tournament held Sunday, March 10, 2019. “We don’t normally schedule tournaments for Sunday, but, due to the floods, the tournament had to be rescheduled,” Coach Lori Moseley stated.

The local team had one boat competing with 65 boats entered.

Team members Slade Moseley and Mason Richardson came in second place, weighing in the limit of five fish totaling 16.86 pounds with boat captain, Kevin Richardson.

The top 12 placed teams got scholarship money and the top three teams also received a trophy plaque.

“We mainly fish the West Tennessee Region BASS Nation High School Tournaments because it is more familiar waters like Pickwick, Kentucky Lake and Perryville,” stated Moseley.

The next tournament is scheduled for March 23 at Kentucky Lake Eagle Bay.

“The community has been very generous to the team, donating sponsorship monies and purchasing jerseys,” Moseley concluded.
