Chanda Lane Griner Tharp, age 49, of Hohenwald, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia following an extensive battle with cancer.
A public visitation with the family was conducted on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, from 3-5 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home in Hohenwald. A private burial was scheduled be conducted afterwards.
Chanda taught 14 years with the Lewis County School System.
Survivors include her husband, Mack Tharp; son, Michael Brumley; biological father, Coy Barber; sister, Suzanne Richardson (Kevin); nephew, Mason Richardson; niece, Kendra Bennett; uncles and aunts, Joe and Patsy Griner; Phillip and Kay Griner, Sandy and Tommy Moon and Harvell Griner, all of Hohenwald; cousin, Wilma York of Hohenwald; special friends, Kellie Spitzer, Ashley Pollock, Melinda Cothran, Paula Dyer, of Hohenwald, Deborah Walker of Parsons and Clayton Callicott of Waverly.
She was preceded in death by her adopted father and mother, Dennis “Tump” and Dorothy Hinson Griner; biological mother, Jackie Barber; and niece, Brittany Bennett.
