Summer is here, but the weather has still been a mystery as the temperatures have been in the forties at night once or twice and in the fifties several times. Lately it has been in the seventies at night and then upper eighties or nineties during the day, so yes, summer is here. It is still dry and many are saying that their gardens are not producing as usual because it is so dry and hot. But we are so blessed no tornados, flooding or other natural disasters have occurred. We must be thankful for this.

With the temperatures being so high most days it is a good time for swimming. Whether it be a pool, creek or other venue, the water is always cooling and refreshing. Just protect yourself and those you love from sunburn. If sunburn gets too bad, it can cause poisoning to the skin and body so be sure to use sun block when you are going to be out a long time in the direct sunlight.

Take advantage of the special events in the area. Lewis County Public Library is always having special events. They had an animal show this past weekend. Then, the Lewis County Historical Society book signing was Saturday for Tony Turnbow book. It was a great event. Check with the library. They have a schedule of events that show what is going on. There are also other events in the area such as Vacation Bible Schools at many locations, ball games and many other local things of interest to many.

Wishing you a great week with happiness and health. Enjoy the world we have been given to see as there are many wild flowers blooming at this time and they are really pretty. May God bless you and yours and you have a great time enjoying your family for many that is a thing of the past as many have gone from this life.
