Flowers are blooming and trees are trying to bud and some shrubs are showing signs of blooms and leaves also. I saw a couple of flocks of Robins, but I think they are early too. I fear this is a false start to spring. The predicted weather for this week is very mild for this time of year with rain and thundershowers for most days, but the warmer temperatures will further the growth of wild flowers and other plants.
The prayer and sick list I have is compiled of those who are sick or shut-in. Those who feel the need for someone to pray for them and those in the nursing rehab centers for rehab I know of at this time are: Helen Brewer, Connie Bonner, James Brewer, Dorothy Brown, Mike Bunch, Girdie Carroll, Jenny Carroll, Joann Carroll, Kathleen Carroll, Kenneth Carroll, Leighton Carroll, Rebecca Carroll, Jimmy Cothran, Jack and Jenny Dickey, Arelus Dye, Charles Dye, Evelyn Edwards, Mary Field, Glen Garrison, Anita Jones, Bobby Jean Jones, Monette King, Juanita King, Brenda Kirby, Edith Lawson, Connie Lindsey, William McCann, John McDonald, Wendy McKnight, Linda Mercer, Andrew Newbern, Becky Newbern, Joan Peavyhouse, J. T. Runions, Jerry Runions, Mona Runions, Kenneth Wayne Seiber, Tommy and Gwen Shaw, Nell Skelton, Waylin Spears, Bobby Watkins, Teresa Wix, Annette Williams, Margie Willis, Marian Yates and Sherry Zimmermann. If you are able to visit these, they would really appreciate it, especially those in the nursing rehab centers as there are some there who never have visitors. A card or call to those shut-in will also brighten their days.

Our heartfelt sympathy to the families of Emmalynn Grace Davis, Marie Ann Tharp, Horace Frank Lawson, Wilma Jackson, Katie Sue Johnston, Charles William Lankford, Claudine Daugherty, Margaret Sue Harlow, Martha Ann Burrow, and William “Bill” Robert Clay II. Our prayers are for these families and that those close to them will help and comfort them in this time of sorrow and loss. We also pray for any other families who have lost loved ones.
The Lewis County Girl Scouts are having cookie booths during the next few weeks, mostly on Friday and Saturday. Locations will be posted later and if you did not get a chance to pre-order cookies, stop by the booths and pick up your favorite.
May God bless and keep you and your family with good health and happiness. Remember those around you who are less fortunate and take time to visit or call or at least send a card. This will bring so much cheer to them.
