Lady Panthers host Hampshire, travel to Stewart, Forrest

Lewis County High School Lady Panther basketball team finished the first half of the season with one win and two losses.

The Lady Panthers took a victory from Hampshire Lady Hawks on December 18 before heading to Center for the Hickman Christmas Tournament.

Lady Panthers picked off a huge 62-43 win over the Lady Hawks.

Haley Bowen led the Lady Panthers by scoring 26 points which included 3 three-pointers. Sailor Selby followed with 23 points and 2 three’s. Kendall Tharp added 5 points, Anna Feichtinger and Kaylie Webb, 4 each, and Breanna Bratcher, 2.

The Lady Panthers traveled to Chapel Hill December 17 for competition with the Forrest High School Lady Rockets. Lewis County suffered a 62-38 loss.

Two Lady Panthers scored in double figures: Selby, 15 and Bratcher, 11. Others adding to the score were Bowen and Feichtinger, 6 each, Tharp, 4, and Webb, 2.

On December 14, the Lady Panthers traveled to Dover and suffered a defeat, 54-51, by the Stewart County Lady Rebels.

Selby led the Panther pack with 20 points. Tharp contributed 11, Webb and Bowen, 8 each, and Bratcher, 4.

The Lady Panthers participated in the Hickman County Christmas Tournament on December 27, 28 and 29.

Lewis County defeated the Harpeth Lady Indians 51-46 in the first game of the tournament, December 27.

Bowen was lead scorer with 14 points. Tharp added 9, Bratcher, 8, Feichtinger, 7, Webb, 6, Selby, 5, and Chloe Lay 2.

In the second game on December 28, Lewis County’s Lady Panthers were defeated 45-33 by Marshall County.

Bowen led the LCHS scoring with 17 points. Tharp added 6, Feichtinger 5, Emily Graves and Webb, 2 each, and Lay 1.

The Lady Panthers lost their final game of the tournament December 29 against Lexington, 72-52.

Tharp was top scorer for the Lady Panthers with 12 points followed by Bowen with 11, Feichtinger, Bratcher and Lay, 7 each, Webb, 6, and Jayden Hinson, 2.

The first game of the second half of the season will begin with home games against Creek Wood, January 4 and Wayne County, January 5. They will travel to Camden Tuesday, January 8.
