The Lewis County Solid Waste Department was recently honored by the Solid Waste Committee and County Mayor Jonah Keltner for their outstanding service to the community. “The department has collected over $517,000 in revenue so far this fiscal year, and total collections are up over $43,000 from this point last year,” Mayor Keltner stated. “Earlier this month, our landfill passed an unannounced inspection by the State of Tennessee with no major violations. And, just last week, our office staff received a clean information technology (IT) audit with no material findings. I am extremely proud of the members of our Solid Waste Department for the hard work and dedication to excellence.” Pictured, left, are Jimmy Moon, Billy Hensley, James Powell, Tony Bailey, Jason Drum, Sandra Collins, Commissioner Wendell Kelley, Renee Odom and Mayor Keltner.
