Lewis Health Center to host free health fair on September 10

Lewis Health Center (LHC) will host its annual community health fair on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 8 until 11 a.m. The free event will be held in the Family Life Center at Blondy Church of God, located at 529 Swan Avenue in Hohenwald.

The health fair will feature booths from LHC and a number of community organizations, showcasing services and information on health and wellness topics. Free screenings and wellness tests to be offered by LHC will include:  Blood pressure checks, Bone density analysis, Grip strength testing, Lipid panel/glucose screening (fasting for 12 hours recommended), and Skin cancer screening provided by Dr. Michael Sattasiri, a specialist in radiation oncology with the Maury Regional Cancer Center.

In addition to the informational booths and wellness screenings, there will be activities for children, refreshments and door prizes.

A blood drive conducted by Blood Assurance will be held from 7:30 until 11:30 a.m. as part of the health fair. Donors will receive a free tee-shirt supporting their favorite college team. To register to donate blood, visit www.bloodassurance.org/LHC or call 931-796-6248.

The public is encouraged to attend this free health fair sponsored by Lewis Health Center, along with Lewis County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Compassus Hospice and Palliative Care, Cornerstone Health Systems and TN Quality Homecare & Hospice.
