Local educator Mylie McKissack has been selected a WKRN-TV News 2 Educator of the Week award recipient.

News 2 personnel visited McKissack’s kindergarten classroom at Lewis County Elementary School on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 to view her “in action” with her students.

McKissack will be competing for an award established by the Tennessee Lottery called “Educator of the Month.” This award recognizes Tennessee’s great educators. She will be competing for that honor along with other teachers from around the state who have been featured in different television markets.

McKissack’s spotlight is scheduled to be aired on News 2 Thursday, April 28, 2016 sometime during the 10 p.m. newscast and Friday, April 29 during the 6-7 a.m. newscast on Nashville’s News 2 “This Morning”.

Anyone may vote for McKissack for the state award beginning Monday, May 2 at www.seehowitaddsup.com.

Once the Educator of the Month nominations go live, one vote per person per day through the voting period will be accepted. Voting ends May 29.
