McNeely speaks at Tennessee Friends of the Library annual meeting

Tess McNeely gave a presentation at the Friends of Tennessee Libraries Annual Meeting in Clarksville on April 23, 2016. Tess was invited to give a presentation about the Christmas tree she constructed from books at the Lewis County Library in December. At the end of her presentation, she was asked several questions by an attentive and responsive audience. McNeely also received a standing ovation from all attendees and was commended by Martha Gill, President of Friends of TN Libraries. Ms. Gill stated, “With young people like Tess stepping up into leadership roles, I feel the future of not only libraries but communities are in good hands.” While at the meeting, Tess met and shook hands with the Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett. Accompanying her to the meeting were Glena Sikes, Lewis County Library Board chair; Crystal Nash, Library Director; and Jaime Troutt, library assistant.
