Jerry L. Powell, 28, of Granddaddy Road, Lawrenceburg, told Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Steve Karpati that he was going fishing when he met a vehicle on Napier Road that was driving in the middle. According to Trooper Karpati, Powell’s 2011 Chevrolet Silverado exited the roadway right travelling north on Napier Road and went into the Buffalo River back water at Murphy Bridge around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 2. Powell was not injured. Taylor’s Wrecker Service was called to pull the truck out. Karpati said that Powell went back into the water after his fishing gear which floated out of the truck during the towing. The Chevrolet suffered water damage. Another vehicle came through the scene after the incident saying that they met a vehicle with a similar description that ran them off the road also. The offender has not been found.
