Richard Wayne Ellison of Hohenwald, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center. He was 73 years old.
Mr. Ellison was born in Harvard, Illinois to the late John Horton Ellison and Claudia Marie Steinebeck Ellison. He was a truck driver most of his life, most recently working for Ryder Trucking. He also served eight years with the United States Marine Corps and was a Vietnam War Veteran.
In his most recent years, he loved spending time with his family especially his great-grandson, Cash (aka Little Man). He also enjoyed socializing with the men at the Southern Skillet Cafe.
He is survived by his wife, Gwenda (Sharp) Ellison of Hohenwald; son, Bert Ellison of Murfreesboro; daughter, Carla (Kenneth) Fourthman of Missouri; step-daughter, Diana (Brad) Holt of Hohenwald; brother, John Ellison of Delavan, Wisconsin; brother, Ron (Peggy) Ellison of Fredericktown, Ohio; one grandchild, Cody; two step-grandchildren, Brennan Holt and Makenzie Creasy; two great granddaughters, Addison and Delilah Patterson; one step-great grandson, Cash (aka Little Man); and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Ellison was preceded in death by his father and mother; step-brother, Miles Green; and grandson, Dustin Patterson.
Funeral service was held Friday, July 6, 2018 at The Sanctuary First United Pentecostal Church at 11 a.m. with Walter Droke officiating. Burial followed in the Lewis County Memorial Gardens.
