Richard worked at the McDonald Funeral Home in Hohenwald for over 30 years and served as Lewis County Coroner for more than 20 years.
“Richard Tate touched the lives and heart of millions of people during his time at the funeral home. The staff at McDonald Funeral Homes, Inc. would like to thank Richard for his years of dedicated service. He and his legacy will live on in our hearts forever,” Bill McDonald commented.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, July 29, at 2 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Hohenwald with Greg McFadden, Jerry Reynolds and Bill McDonald officiating. Interment followed in the Lewis County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Robertson Tate; children of the heart, Nathan and Anne Duncan and Kenley and Bethann Bates; three sisters, Sandra Hazlewood of Dresden, Ginger Archie (Robert) of Greenfield and Joanne Konkol (Joe) of Union City; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ricky and Gail Robertson; grandchildren of the heart, Canaan Duncan, Isaac Duncan, Eli Duncan, Noah Duncan, Marlee Duncan and Oliver Bates; two nieces, six nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
