Sports: LCHS Basketball

Lewis County High School Panther basketball team  put a whooping on the Perry County Vikings Saturday, December 1 in Perry County. Lewis County came out on top 70 to 60.

Bryson Hinson lead the pack with 30 points, 4 assist, 9 rebounds and 1 steal. Cameron Cotham had 16 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks followed by Mikey Ortiz with 10 points, 7 assists and 1 steal. Others contributing were Peyton Crowell with 5 points, 1 assist, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 steal; Slade Moseley, 3 points and 1 rebound; Cade Banks, 2 assists; A.T. Brewer, 2 assists and 1 rebound.

Before the Thanksgiving holiday, Lewis County picked up two wins at home. The first on November 13 with Hampshire, 88-34.

Hinson was top scorer with 28 points, followed by Cotham 18, Crowell 17, Ortiz 8, Banks 6, Mosley and Levi Thompson 4, Braden Powers 2 and Scott Mullinicks 1.

The picked up their second win over Forrest, 81-64, on November 20.

Hinson once again led the Panthers with 36 points and Cotham with 26 points. Crowell added 14, Ortiz 3 and Banks 2.

The Panthers faced the Fairview Yellow Jackets Tuesday, December 4 on the local court. They will travel to Waverly Friday, December 7 and host East Hickman Tuesday, December 11.
