Strand Theatre Camp begins

The seventh annual two week theatre training camp will begin its session Monday, June 6, 2016 at 9 a.m. The final date to register is Saturday, June 4.

Parents and students interested in attending may register by calling (931) 628-8277 or mail the designated tuition fee to Scarlette Woodall, 131 Roth Street, Hohenwald 38462.

Parents of students qualifying for tuition scholarship subsidy should inquire for information upon registration. All students, five-eight years, will only attend camp part time and therefore receive a discounted tuition rate.

“Preparations have been going on for this year’s camp to be even bigger and better than the past six. Most parents and students aware of the benefits have returned for more experience and fun of being in an authentic stage production.

Cindy Brown is the theatre camp director along with her husband, Kenny Brown as set building and production assistant.

The director’s choice for this year’s production is the original music international’s M.T.I. licensed version of “Music Man, Jr.” No prior experience is required for students to be included in the live stage authentic production for level II full time camp students. Children ages eight years and under, level I, will perform on stage before the live audience in the pre-show choir at the beginning of the show on production night, Saturday, June 18.

The Strand Theatre Camp is sponsored by Oliver Companies, Bank of Lewis County, Amy Reynolds, Pizza Hut, Sonic Drive-in and McDonald’s.
