At a recent South Central Tennessee Workforce Alliance staff development meeting, employees of the Tennessee Career Center in Hohenwald participated in a silent auction to help raise funds for the charity of their choice. The Center chose to donate the funds they raised to the family of Aleigha Carroll, a 12 year-old, seventh grade student who was accidentally shot in October 2010. “This is a continuous blessing,” stated Diane Carroll, the young girl’s mother. She explained Aleigha is now at home recovering, working on her physical therapy and recently resumed her education through the home bound studies program. Staff members of the TN Career Center presenting the check to Ms. Carroll were, left, Michael Davis, Ms. Carroll, Thelma Johns, and Johnny Staggs. Not pictured was Stan Smith.
