The weather has been more like winter again this past week and the temperatures at night have been in the thirties some nights. Everywhere you look there is leaves and more leaves and the trees are not yet completely bare. The weather keeps its reputation in check as the temperature from morning to evening has been somewhat changeable over the past few days, but we have had some rain, which was needed. It was so dry that burn bans had been issued for the area. If you are going to be out for long periods of time, I suggest layering clothing and then if it gets warmer you can remove some. A very beautiful weekend in the area with mild temperatures and beautiful sunshine. Saturday, we attended the Lomax Ladies Day with Brandy Love, she is a hometown girl who grew up in the area and is the daughter of Caroline Duncan and David Duncan and sister to Brooke. She had a wonderful lesson and was so good for this day and time in our lives as it dealt with the attitude of our hearts. Monday started off with rain which is good because we have not had much lately. We enjoyed a nice week and weekend with the daytime temperatures being in the mid to upper seventies and the nighttime temperatures in the forties and fifties. The Lewis County Historical Society met on October 2nd and although there were not many in attendance, those who came enjoyed the meeting as we shared some things about our past and things we enjoyed doing. There were some materials that had been given to the museum by the family of Patty Hedge and there were some amazing articles in it about the past happenings in Lewis County.
