The past week was much better than the last one although we had lots of rain, some hard and with thunderstorms and other just showers along off and on some days. I am just glad that the snow and ice are gone and people can return to a more normal life with children in school, people able to get to work and some sunshine during the days with warmer temperatures. Well we have been getting some much needed rain here in our little valley, they are calling for clearer and sunny weather, but I think I heard that they are still calling for a day or two of a little snow, but it still is wintertime. The number of telephones in service in Hohenwald increased by 50 in 1953.
