    A single vehicle accident was dispatched around 9:45 p.m. Sunday, January 31 bringing emergency responders from both Lewis and Maury Counties. A Ford F-350 pick-up was found just off Highway 412 East on Overhead Bridge Road. The driver, Andrew Kyle Anderson, 32, of Maury County died in the crash, according to Tennessee Highway Patrol Sergeant Bradley Smith.     Several people gathered before the Lewis County Commission’s Solid Waste Committee meeting began Monday night to contest their Solid Waste Fees. All committee members were present except for Commissioner Doug Jobbitt. Jason Drum, owner of Drum’s Tree Service, Paul Potts who paints houses professionally, and Lawrence Boyd who owns Economy Storage all individually told the committee that they wanted out of the commercial waste fee.   • Postcards to be sent for Vehicle Registration Renewals

    Starting in January 2021, the Department of Revenue will send postcards to motor vehicle registrants to remind them of upcoming renewal dates. The postcards will replace traditional letters and will reduce state mailing expenses by an estimated $500,000.   • Lewis County begins COVID-19 Vaccination of Adults Age 70 and Older

    Tennessee began administering COVID-19 vaccinations to Tennesseans aged 70 and older this week as the state has begun receiving increased allocations of COVID-19 vaccines. Vaccination in Tennessee is being conducted using a phased approach based on age and risk category. Currently, those age 70 or older are eligible to receive the vaccine in Lewis County, along with those who are in phases 1a1 and 1a2, based on occupations related to health care.
