    The State of Tennessee recently awarded Lewis County Government a $957,850 "Evidence Based Programming" grant, which is designed to help reduce recidivism and increase the likelihood of an inmate's success following their release from incarceration. The grant was successfully written by Captain Christie Moore of the Lewis County Jail, and is 100% fully-funded by the Office of Criminal Justice Programs, thus requiring no match of local tax dollars.     Beginning March 1, 2023, Power Pole Maintenance Company will start electric pole inspections on behalf of Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative in Lewis County. Work is estimated to take two months.
