    The Lewis County Middle School Lady Panthers softball team hosted the Summertown Lady Eagles on Tuesday, March 16 at Memorial Park. Kinlee Keltner took the mound to start for the Lady Panthers and issued a leadoff walk before recording a fly out.     The Lewis County Middle School Panthers baseball team hosted the Perry County Vikings on Monday, March 15th at LCHS. Steele Moseley took the mound for the Panthers to begin the game and gave up a leadoff single before striking out the second batter of the game.     The Lewis County Education Foundation Fund has helped a number of Lewis County High School graduates pursue their educational goals over the years. The Turnbow family wishes to thank our family and friends for the generous donations to support a scholarship in memory of Craig Turnbow this past year.   • Unemployment rates decrease in majority of State

    Most of Tennessee’s 95 counties started 2021 with lower unemployment numbers, according to data released by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Seventy-eight counties began the new year with a decrease in unemployment. The jobless rate remained the same in seven counties and increased in ten counties. Rates in 24 counties came in under 5% for the month. The remaining counties, 71 out of the 95, have rates higher than 5%, but less than 10%. Lewis County decreased from 5.7 percent to 5.1 percent.
