Well it is a quiet and peaceful morning here in our little valley, there is a light breeze blowing, the cats are napping and I’m enjoying my coffee. The Lewis County Schools Food Service Department will be serving free meals beginning on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the elementary cafeteria and continuing through Friday, July 9, 2021. Parents can drive through and pick up lunch and breakfast for students between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday-Friday. On Wednesday, May 5, 2021 the Lewis County Sheriff's Department received information from a concerned citizen that an individual from out of state was in Lewis County and was in possession of a stolen vehicle from out of state. A Lawrenceburg woman is charged with TennCare fraud for allegedly falsifying information given to the state in order to obtain TennCare healthcare insurance benefits. Ralph Douglas Stewart, of Hohenwald was recently named to the University of Mississippi’s Spring 2021 Honor Roll lists. Stewart was named to the Dean’s Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.50-3.74. Lewis County High School Commencement Ceremonies began at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 21, at the Bobby W. Sharp Stadium. As the sun set behind the trees, proud parents, grandparents and friends were able to cheer on their graduates with joy. Last year's seniors had only a limited amount of tickets for family and friends due to the pandemic.
