The Elephant Sanctuary would like to thank the City of Hohenwald for its recent donation of bamboo! Bamboo is a preferred snack for The Sanctuary's resident elephants and is often used for both food and enrichment. Columbia State Community College and the College System of Tennessee are mourning the loss of Clifford Gordon, associate professor of art, who was involved in a tragic accident while on a study abroad trip in Brazil. Professor Gordon and three students were walking along an oceanside road and stopped to take their photographs along either boulders or a wall when a wave hit them. On Saturday, May 18, 2024 the Lewis County Elks Riders #2883 held the 3rd Annual Brain Injury Child Ride and fundraiser for little Elsie Ray Webb. The Brain Injury Child Ride is a national Elks Rider event held across the country on the same day each year. Each Riders group selects a child from the local community to support.
