Celebrating National Trails Day, the Lewis County Public Library and Archives and the Natchez Trace Park partnered to explore the Old Trace. Attendees learned about the community that grew up along the Trace and the Meriwether Lewis Monument, and about how significant the Natchez Trace was, not only to Tennessee, but the country. On Tuesday, May 23 and Thursday, May 25, 2023 our Lewis County Cub Scout Dens and their parents faithfully endeavored to replace the American flags at the grave sites of the veterans in both the Hohenwald’s Swiss Cemetery and the Memorial Cemetery. Some of the scouts could not attend, so the ones that were able to make it, doubled their efforts to make sure that no veteran was missed.
