Christmas came early for residents at AHC Lewis County. Barbara Hinson, Annette Peery, Santa (played by Steve Holloway), Mabel Anne and her mom, Ashley Heath, went around spreading joy from window to window. Little Mabel Anne also put on a dance recital for those who sat on the front porch. She was the star of the show, of course. Peery, Hinson and the Heaths visit the nursing home every Monday. "Ashley comes up with all the themes and started the whole thing. And she's amazing at it," said...

I know the water feels good when temperature in the upper eighties, are nineties or above during the afternoon. Those who are sick or shut-in and in need of prayers for whatever the need: William Barber, David and Joyce...

But the Tennessee State Fair will still be making an appearance this year as it has for more than 150 years, although those participating this year will do so through online competitions and viewing educational videos on Facebook. Tyrades! by Danny Tyree “Shower the people you love with love/ Show them the way that you feel.” – James Taylor With all due respect to the five-time Grammy Award winner, I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain and I’ve seen sunny days when I wished people would put their advice where the sun DON’T shine. I think most homo sapiens do a serviceable job of unbottling our emotions when a special person is terminally ill or going into a battle zone; but some well-intentioned buttinsky is always trying...
