    Active Covid-19 cases for Lewis County are back on the rise. As of Monday, December 14, Lewis County had 132 active cases. Nine hundred and fifty-three had tested positive, 29 hospitalized, with 17 deaths and 822 inactive or recovered. A safe and effective Covid-19 vaccine will help to slow the spread of the virus across Tennessee communities. Vaccines will be available in all 95 counties by the end of December 2020.   • COVID-19 Testing changes beginning December 21

    Lewis County Health Department will no longer offer COVID-19 drive-through testing on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, beginning December 21. A self-testing alternative will be provided. In order to use the Everlywell Covid-19 Home Collection Kit you must be at least 18 years old, have a smart phone to register yourself, watch an instructional video at https://vimeo.com/399342549, have a valid email address.     Two traffic checks on different dates ended with drug findings. On November 19 at approximately 7:48 p.m., Hohenwald Police Officer Clay Colley observed a vehicle traveling west on East Second Avenue in violation of the display of a tag to the rear of the vehicle.     Lewis County’s Internet Sales Tax revenue increased by nearly 200 percent in October, compared to October of last year. Mayor Jonah Keltner happily announced at Monday’s County Commission meeting that Lewis Count was number one in the state for Internet sales tax revenue increase.
