Garretson Public Schools, in South Dakota, received a boost last year when the district was awarded nearly $1.2 million to add three electric buses to its fleet. November 18, 1954 The City of Hohenwald acquired enough Christmas lights from the City of Florence, AL, which was selling the materials, to decorate 14 city blocks for the 2nd annual Christmas Parade. On September 16, 2024, FSIS added H5N1 influenza A monitoring of muscle samples from culled dairy cows to its already robust national surveillance programs for pathogens and chemical contaminants. Samples are being tested by FSIS laboratory personnel for presence of Influenza A virus using polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Carcasses are held by establishments pending results. In its final two contests for the season the LCHS Marching Band finished strong with a return to state finals after twenty-five years. On October 26, the week before the state championship, the band competed in the Pulaski Classic Marching Competition.
