During the "snowmageddon" experienced over the last two weeks, a majority of the community was "stuck" at home. School was out, businesses shut down, and meetings and church services canceled. Some whined and complained, while others enjoyed the forced moments of relaxation afford to them by nature. Like so many others who enjoyed true snow days, Michael G. Knox took matters into his own hands, literally. "I love sculpting in the snow," he said. Knox sculpted this Sheriff for passersby to...

Snow harbors a certain beauty all by itself and one way artistically to reimagine snow, is through the art of ice and snow sculpting. Ice sculptures stand as ephemeral masterpieces, captivating audiences with their beauty carved in frozen elegance. These unique creations, meticulously crafted from blocks of ice, showcasing the delicate dance between the artist’s vision and the unforgiving nature of their chosen medium. The art of sculpting ice dates back centuries, originating in regions with colder climates where winter’s icy grasp pro...

Well last week we had some bad cold weather here in our little valley, lots of mornings it was in the single digits with snow and ice everywhere, but this week they called for warmer weather and for rain almost every day. After the freezing rain I looked down by the creek and all the trees looked like they were made of glass, they were covered in ice, it was so pretty. Ice had covered all the snow and everything, it was so cold. I know some of you are saying, well E.T. got her snow that she wanted. It sure was pretty but after several days of...
I guess everyone has something to say about the weather this past week. On Sunday afternoon around 4:30pm it began to snow and by the time we got out of church and home the roads were white and our back road was completely covered. By Monday afternoon there was over five inches of snow on the ground and even the main highways were treacherous and even those with four-wheel drives found it hard to get around. There was more snow and some sleet on top of that and the days the sun did shine much what melted only froze back during the night making...
