Local and area Co-Ed softball teams met at Lewis County Memorial Park on Saturday, July 11, 2020 competing for a cause in the 1st Annual Becky Carroll Spongeball Tournament. The event was put together after the untimely passing of local civic icon Becky Carroll who, at the time of her death, was the Director of the Lewis County Senior Center. In recent months, Carroll had been working hard to secure funding to replace HVAC units at the Senior Center and was unable to see the project completed....
Last week the "Aftershock" 12U Travel Softball Team participated in the 2020 USFA World Series in Panama City Beach, Florida. Lee Burklow was named Mr. Baseball by the Nashville Old Timers Baseball Association. It is the group's top honor and was presented to Burklow at the 82nd annual banquet held January 14, 2020.
