The 2024 LCMS Football Team opened the season on the road at McEwen. From the outset it was apparent that the home team had quite a size advantage in the contest. The Panthers received the opening kickoff only to stall out just beyond the 50-yard line. Subsequently the LC defense would hold the McEwen Warriors on downs and both teams traded possessions. Lewis County Jr Pro traveled to Columbia, Tn Saturday after hosting a program fundraiser car wash at the Bank of Lewis County, successfully raising $755 in donations from the Lewis county community. Fifteen members of the Lewis County, mostly Elks Lodge Riders rode 3,445 miles from Tennessee to Sturgis and back. During their trip, they visited other Elks Lodges, Mount Rushmore, and several other natural wonders. Lewis County Shooting Sports shooters traveled to Ohio July 13-July 20, 2024 for the SCTP National competitions. Shooters, Zoie Clark, Anna Burney, KC Braun, Emery Norris and Spencer Clark competed in Skeet, Sporting Clays, Doubles Trap, Singles Trap and Handicap, including practice these shooters shot over 1100 rounds during this week. The Lewis County Jr Pro football players traveled to Dickson Saturday August 3rd to participate in a jamboree hosted by the Dickson Dolphins, playing against both Dickson and Waverly players. Scores are not reported at these events, as they are more of an offense and defense learning experience to prepare for games. Each year, the Middle Schoolers attending Hope Hohenwald's Summer Day Camp Get Served by Local Law Enforcement. Sometimes they beat them, sometimes they don't. The Lewis County Shooting Sports team traveled to Ohio the week of July 15th. Anna Burney's 9th Grade J.V. season ended with over 1,100 rounds in the week, between practice and competing in Skeet, Doubles, Sproting, Caps, and Singles. Lewis County Shooting Sports team members competed in the 2024 State Competitions in Nashville, TN June 17-22, 2024. All shooters shot trap, and various others shot sporting clays, doubles trap, handicap and skeet.
