The Tennessee Community College Athletic Association recently announced their special awards and All-TCCAA teams for the 2024 baseball season. Columbia State Community College head coach Desi Ammons, a Lewis County native, was named TCCAA Coach of the Year. The 5th grade boys competed in the Final 4 TVBA tournament in Alabama March 7th-10th. Thursday night March 7th the LC Panthers took on the Deshler Tigers and came out victorious 58-48. With a little bit of a slow start the Panthers trailed 17-10 early in the first half, the boys livened up and went on an 11-2 run to take the lead at the half 23-21. Lewis County 4th grade middle school boys won the TVBA Regional Division after a four game run last weekend in Alabama. After winning the first game 33-24, they took on the Priceville Bulldogs to win 43-24. Although they fell to the Hamilton Aggies 16-25 during their first brawl, Lewis County came back with a vengeance, beating the Aggies 32-25 during the last game, ensuring their victory as Region Champs. They are traveling to Alabama this weekend to compete for the Final Four Championship....

The LCHS Lady Panthers and Panthers played their first home game on Tuesday, November 28 as they hosted the Lady Hawks and Hawks of Hampshire. The Lady Panthers fell behind 12-4 early in the first but closed out the first quarter on a 9-0 run to claim a 14-13 lead at the end of the period.
