We had another week of very hot days and pop-up thundershowers around the area. Sometimes there was no rain and others it was scattered around different areas. We are grateful for any rain we get because we have had a very dry summer. When it rains it makes the woodland and other areas look so much better because it washes all the dirt off the vegetation and also helps to clean the air. Another hot dry week in the middle Tennessee area, I am sure you hear others say that we are drier than they can remember in many years, and this is what I hear also. It our area it is usually hot and dry in late July and August but not as early as June was. On Sunday afternoon we finally received some much-needed rain arriving during the thunderstorm in the early afternoon. We have had a few days and nights with cooler temperatures, but the days have been nice, even with a little breeze to help keep cool when outside. The yards are growing, especially the weeds, and sometimes it is hard to stay on top of the mowing.
