By Dorothy Warf, Contributing Writer I guess ol’man Winter has finally made the appearance we were all dreading, temperatures have dipped into the low twenties in some areas and probably has caused some water problems for those who the winterizing has not been done to the outside area. I really was not ready for this and especially the drastic change in the temperature. Hopefully this has not had an adverse effect on you and your family. Cars and other modes of transportation also have to be winterized so if you have not done please attend t...

By Dorothy Warf, Contributing Writer Once again, we are having weather suited to the season of fall nearing winter, the weather people forecast for next week cold temperatures and more rain on some days. We have had rain scattered around for the last few days and it will come and go from time to time. The leaves have been falling by the wagon loads as some have said, you can rake, mow, or blow them away and the next day they are back, it will soon be time that they will all be off the trees and then maybe we can get them all moved from the...

By Dorothy Warf, Contributing Writer The weather is like all Tennessee weather very unpredictable, one day is warm and the next will be cool to cold and sometimes with rain showers also. I guess you could say we are into fall and the winter weather is accompanied it. Hope you had a good Halloween weekend and was able to enjoy some of the activities in the area with your family. By Dorothy Warf, Contributing Writer We are back to having some warmer weather especially during the day but the nights have also not been as cold as they were a few nights ago. We have had a killing frost and almost anything that can’t stand the cold weather is black and laying on the ground. The weather person has said that we might get some rain this week and it would be welcome, it is really dry around the area. Those I know of who are sick either at home, in nursing facilities or in the hospitals are: Connie Bonner, L C Bowen, Timmy B...

By Dorothy Warf, Contributing Writer We are having our first taste of winter temperatures and with some rain in the mix the leaves are falling really fast. It is supposed to be really cold for the next few days at least compared to the temperatures we have been having but this is not supposed to last very long. Like many others some were busy yesterday trying to get winter coats and jackets out for the little ones to wear to school and other places during the cold days we are scheduled to have, and adults alike have looked for warmer outer...

By Dorothy Warf, Contributing Writer As one of my great-grandchildren described to me the other day as we were going somewhere, the forest is decorated with many colors such as yellow, brown, orange, green and other colors. We all know that now they are falling off quickly, you can remove them today and tomorrow they are there again. It is a beautiful time of year and so many changes coming so quickly. The temperatures help this change along as the temperature dipped into the thirties this past weekend, some even had frost on Sunday morning....

By Dorothy Warf, Contributing Writer Lots of trees are losing their leaves as the fall weather begins to be more prevalent every day. This is a pretty time of year as the leaves are such a varied array of colors but at the same time a sad time for things is dying. Only the trees that stay green year-round are showing the green colors. By Dorothy Warf, Contributing Writer Although some have already seen temperatures in the upper forties it was 52 degrees here this morning a little before six. I guess you could say that fall weather is here of course we will have some more warm days and the nights cooler as it gets later in the year. The trees are beginning to look like fall with the variety of colors in the leaves. It will soon be time for the October fest weekend and with it lots of yard sales and many other activities going on and the children will be out of school. Those...

Although the nights have still been cool with temperatures in the fifties and sixties it is supposed to be in the upper eighties and even in the nineties during the days for the next several days. I like the cooler temperatures and know that soon it will be cooler both day and night. That always is the way of fall weather and the humidity has not been high which makes it better for those who have breathing problems. The nights are still cool with temperatures in the fifties and sixties and then in the daytime it gets up in the eighties. We are still having some showers with thunderstorms around the area. Except for the high temperatures during the day it has seemed like fall the last week or two and the leaves are really falling. The nights lately have been cooler in the upper sixties, but the days are still in the eighties unless there is a thunderstorm with wind and rain and that has happened a lot lately. We need the rain, so we do not complain. The weather is one thing we can do nothing about except talk about it. Another week of scattered showers around the area and not much rain in total. The days have been hot and dry for the most part and humidity has been rather high. Hope the high humidity with high temperatures have not caused you much breathing problems, but it has for some. Not much rain this past week but still some pop-up showers and a few days with thunderstorms and rain. We still had some thundershowers and rain early last week but then the temperatures dropped at night and have been in the sixties during the early morning although during the day it still was in the eighties. The rain that we had has been really good for all growing things and helped to clear the air to help those with breathing problems, I for one appreciate that. We had another week of very hot days and pop-up thundershowers around the area. Sometimes there was no rain and others it was scattered around different areas. We are grateful for any rain we get because we have had a very dry summer. When it rains it makes the woodland and other areas look so much better because it washes all the dirt off the vegetation and also helps to clean the air. The thunderstorm that popped up on Sunday afternoon also brought some wind with it for there was branches and limbs all over the place after it was over and it...

We have had a wet week and that is good although there were lots of thunderstorms around the area but no damage that I know of except lots of twigs and limbs around the area. We are thankful that we did not have the flooding that Kentucky is facing with lots of deaths and lots of homes and businesses destroyed, and we pray for them. Such devasting as this is not easily recovered from. Well, the weather is one thing we can talk about but also one thing we can do nothing about. Another hot dry week in the middle Tennessee area, I am sure you hear others say that we are drier than they can remember in many years, and this is what I hear also. It our area it is usually hot and dry in late July and August but not as early as June was. Maybe there will be some rain coming soon and when it does it always makes the trees and shrubs look better as it washes all the dust from the foliage. If you have breathing problems, be careful when you are out and be sure to stay hydrated the heat seems to hurt many who are affected with...

The weather this past week was very unpredictable of course this could be said of the weather lots of times, but many days would be hot and then out of the clear blue skies a cloud would appear and then it would turn into a thunderstorm with wind, rain and lots of thunder and lightning. The rain we need very much for it has been really dry. Most days it would clear back up and would be hotter and more humid than before the thunderstorm. Hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable fourth of July weekend and remembered those who served and are serving to make this nation the greatest place on earth to live. There is no other nation that enjoys the freedoms that we have in this land and someday we may be like many others and loose this freedom. It has been a very hot summer but the last few days the humidity has been lower which influences the temperatures to feel not as hot. We are still very dry, and gardens are suffering along with pastures and yards and the beautiful world that Go...

On Sunday afternoon we finally received some much-needed rain arriving during the thunderstorm in the early afternoon. Not sure how much we got but every little bit helps when it has been dry for so long. Gardens have still been producing but it is a wonder because it has been so dry for several weeks. Many in the areas where there are creeks have been enjoying a cooling dip in the waters that flow so freely and are usually very cooling for there are so many springs that flow into them. Those I know of who are sick either at home, in nursing...

We are really experiencing some high temperatures in the area with most days being in the nineties and nights still in the seventies and with little or no rain. Pastures and gardens and even yards are suffering from lack of rain. Hopefully we will get some before too long. I guess you could say Summer is officially here although not yet the calendar date. But with temperatures in the daytime above ninety degrees and even not cooler than the seventies at night, that is summertime temperatures. I guess you could say also that it would be a good time to be in the waters somewhere in Tennessee. The creeks around the area are a great place to cool off because the water is cold most of the time because there are so many springs that feed the waters. Those I know of who are sick either at home, nursing facilities or in...

Summertime seems to be here a little early according to the calendar with temperatures in the eighties, and even close to ninety degrees, some days. Many of the children and older children are enjoying the creeks and pools that are already open around the area. Gardens are showing the efforts of those who worked them and are now reaping the bounty of their work. It is hard to keep the yards looking good with the showers we have had the last week or so and the wind that has accompanied the rains leaves lots of twigs and limbs that have to be...

We have had a few days and nights with cooler temperatures, but the days have been nice, even with a little breeze to help keep cool when outside. The yards are growing, especially the weeds, and sometimes it is hard to stay on top of the mowing. Some are brave enough to try out the creeks in the area, but they are still cold or at least cool for lots of springs flow into them. It won’t be long before it is hot enough for those who love to swim or at least enjoy wading around in the water to go there often and enjoy the beauty that God has give...
