Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898
Owner Art Filson stopped by our office last week with an update on business following a fire last month.
Kanson Electronics, an electronics manufacturer that produces world-class timers right here in Hohenwald, was shut down for one and one-half weeks due to damage after the main power distribution center caught fire.
“It’s beyond repair,” Filson stated. “It’s a piece of charcoal.”
Insurance adjusters were investigating the cause of the fire and had not made a determination at press time.
The company was operating with assistance from Serv Pro, with four generators. One of the generators was stolen when the chain padlocking them together was cut.
A larger generator was brought in to get the company and its 17 employees back to work. For several days, employees worked with no heat and limited lights as repairs and clean up were underway.
The building, located on Forrest Avenue, is owned by the Hohenwald Industrial Development Board. It is the former location of the Henry I. Siegel plant.
Kanson Electronics provides drilling, plastic injection molding, powder coating and circuit board design and fabrication for customers around the country.
