Coronavirus by the numbers

As Tennessee begins to try to get back some sense of normalcy, fears continue among residents about the Coronavirus threat.

The data changes rapidly and might not reflect some cases still being reported. Cases only include people who were tested and confirmed positive. Testing rules and availability vary by country. Some areas may not have data because they haven’t published their data or haven’t done so recently. Data comes from Wikipedia, and cases are constantly updated from resources around the world. Daily situation reports are also available on the World Health Organization website. There are various sources that are tracking and aggregating coronavirus data. They update at different times and may have different ways of gathering data.

Tennessee has confirmed 13,571 cases with 6,081 recovered and 219 deaths as of Tuesday, May 5.

In this area, Hickman County has reported 45 cases and 2 recovered of a U.S. Census population estimate of 24,678. Maury County shows 44 cases and 34 recovered of 89,776 residents. Lawrence County has 17 cases and 16 recovered of 42,937. Perry County has reported 12 cases with 7 recovered in a population of 7,912. Wayne County County has 4 cases with 2 recovered of 16,649 Wayne Countians. Lewis County is currently in the best condition due to our residents being safe and cautious. Continue to use common sense as businesses reopen to try and get the economy rolling again.
