It is beginning to be more like summer have been. Temperatures in the upper seventies and eighties in the day and staying in the sixties at night. Of course, this brings many of the young and young-at-heart to the creeks for a dip, especially after some strenuous activity like chasing cattle. We have also had several thunder showers pop up, mostly in the afternoon and evening. Maybe the cooler temperatures of thirties and forties are gone for the summer.

We express sympathy to the families of Billy Leon Brewer, Thomas Tharp, William Lee Lindsey, Ola Mae Staggs, Garry Delano Holder, Betty Rebecca Davidson, Mildred E. Mays, Brenda Faye Baker, Betty June Green, and Guy Darren Davis. Prayers for these families and any other families who have lost loved ones that we may not know about.
Hoping everyone enjoyed the Memorial Day Weekend. I know that many were off work and, since the quarantine has been lightened some, many were getting together with family. We really appreciate all those who have family members who gave their all to help keep our nation free. We all know that freedom is not free. Thanks to all those families who have someone missing because they fought to defend our great country.
Maybe the holiday will not cause it to be bad again for it was no fun being away from family and friends, especially if one of your loved ones was in the hospital and you were unable to visit and, for a few days, not even to talk to them or hear from them except through a nurse or doctor who called with updates during the days. Even before my daughter got sick, I prayed daily and continue to do so for those who are confined to nursing homes and hospitals where no family or friends could visit them. It has to be really hard for them and their families.
Some are already enjoying the bounty from their gardens as broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, mustard and radishes and other garden items appear. These would make some wonderful fare and be much enjoyed by those who have them.
Hope you enjoy the wonderful days of warmer weather, but know that soon we will be wanting it to cool up some and will not miss the thirties and forties in temperatures that has so long plagued us during this spring.
Praying you have a great week, may you be blessed with health and happiness, may the sun shine in your life, and may you have peace with yourself and others.
