Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898
Lewis County High School planned to honor their graduating seniors with a week-long celebration, called Senior Week, which would have involved our whole community.
The original plans included a Senior Block Party on Friday, June 5th, Junior and Senior Prom on Saturday, June 6th, and FCA's "See You at the Pole" meeting on Sunday, June 7th, to kick off Senior Week.
The following week would have included Senior Awards Night on Tuesday, June 9th, and a Senior Ride on Thursday, June 11th, where students would have ridden on trolleys through town.
But plans had to change when Gov. Lee issued Executive Order 38, which is a part of the phased re-opening of Tennessee, on Friday, May 22nd.
According to the Executive Order, groups of 50 and under are now allowed to gather. But there is one problem: LCHS has 105 graduating seniors.
"As all of you know we have been waiting until June to receive guidance on the activities we had planned for senior week. On May 22nd, Governor Lee released a new Executive order that extends through June 30th. Based on this new order, 'senior week' has been updated to meet all requirements. We appreciate your support, encouragement, and patience during this unprecedented time. Thank you to all who have had a part in trying to make the best out of a challenging situation," Stacey Graves, Principal of LCHS, posted onto the school's Facebook page.
Principal Graves' post also came with an updated Senior Week schedule. The Senior Block Party, Junior and Senior Prom, and FCA's "See You at the Pole" meeting all had to be canceled.
Dedicated to celebrating the seniors' achievement, the high school kept what events they could and tweaked the events remaining to comply with social distancing guidelines.
The updated schedule is as follows:

Decorate the town in black and gold to support our LC students.
