Gordonsburg/ Little Swan News

Series: Gordonsburg | Story 10

This has been another week of summer weather with the nights being in the upper fifties and days into the eighties and low nineties. The humidity for the most part has been low, making for great days and a beautiful time to see the sights of the season. I understand there was hail in Centerville on Sunday and it got cloudy and windy and thundered here. I thought we would get a thundershower but did not rain any so guess it missed us. Hopefully there was not much damage from the storms in other places. If it does not get really dry there will be lots of blackberries around the area as they are beginning to turn red. If you can be out, take a little time to enjoy the wonderful world we are blessed to live in and remember to pray for our nation as we are in a time of conflict that could cause some bad outcomes.

Those who are sick or shut-in and in need of prayers for whatever the need: David and Joyce Barnes, G.Y. Bennett, Connie Bonner, Barbara Brown, Burrell Brown, Dorothy Brown, Amy Carroll, Dorothy Carroll, Joann Carroll, Kathleen Carroll, Spencer Clark, Fada Clay, Terrell Crews, Marian Dryden, Rusty Dupont, Geneva Grover, Helen Hardin, Myrtle Harvey, Melody Hensley, Beverly Holloway, Mickey James, Monette King, Edith Lawson, Wendy McKnight, Rita Norris, Angie Odom, Lonnie Odom, Donna Owen, Coleen Rasbury, J. Happy anniversary to Gerald and Peggy McCann on June 25. We wish for them many more years to celebrate life together.

We express sympathy to the families of James Benjamin Carrick, Karen Ann McCormick, Tommy Erlene (Treadwell) Sharp Russell, Tommy Tidwell, Wanda Jean Dunn, Wayne Carlton Thompson, James David Lynn, Fredrick Eugene Frazier, and Heidileigh-Susan Ducharme. Prayers for these families and any other families who have lost loved ones that we may not know about.

Hope all fathers have a very happy Father’s Day and enjoy their family. Lots of us no longer have a father to share this day with so you are very lucky if you do. Don’t forget that someday you may also reach that time in your life so enjoy them while you can.

Hope you have a great week and enjoy all the things that God has blessed us with in our lives. We in this nation are so blessed even with all the turmoil that goes on in our lives today and the only solution is to pray that God will have mercy on our people and bring peace to our country once again.

Praying you are blessed with health and happiness during the coming days and remember those who are less fortunate and take time to help where you can. We only come this way once and we need to leave it a better place than we found it and make it a good memory for our family when they think of us.
