Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898

Race for Senate Seat makes rural stops in South Central TN

Vanderbilt trauma surgeon, Dr. Manny Sethi, visited Hohenwald Monday, for the second time in advance of Election Day, visiting with several residents and answering questions.

State Senator Dr. Joey Hensley moderated questions from the audience at Lewis & Clarke's Restaurant on Maple Street, following comments by Dr. Manny who seeks the U. S. Senate seat of Lamar Alexander. Alexander is retiring after this term, a position he has held since 2003.

Senator Hensley introduced Dr. Manny as an outsider who was the right man for the job, someone who was not a political insider.

"I deeply love this country, I deeply love Tennessee," Dr. Manny said during his remarks. The founder of Healthy Tennessee, he claims Coffee County as his home, raised there by his parents, both doctors.

"It does not matter what's in your bank account. What truly matters is the difference you make," Dr. Manny stated, also pledging support of President Donald Trump.

Three promises the Senate hopeful declared were to bring jobs back to America noting complications for Americans who rely on China for medicines and equipment, to work to remove Obamacare with a plan he created, and to fight illegal immigration.
