Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898

Jane Runions

Elizabeth Jane Curtis Runions, age 71, of Hohenwald, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020, at her home surrounded by her greatest blessings in life, her family.

Jane was the type of person that everyone tried their hardest to be. She lived her life to the fullest, never letting anyone go without a laugh for the day. She spoke her mind whenever she felt like it. She knew the value of family, and more importantly, spending time with your family. She knew how to have fun. If she knew you, she loved you deeply, and would set you straight whenever you needed it. She was a true fashionista; she treasured her shoes and clothes as much as anything. When she entered Heaven, the first thing she probably did was find her sister, Lynda, and put on her new pair of stilettos.

She was born in Lawrence County on December 21, 1948 to Leonard Franklin "Buck" and Edith Nevada Curtis. She grew up and married the love of her life and best friend, Kenneth Runions. They were married on September 2, 1970, and lived their lives happily together. She worked as a secretary for Mid South Painting Company and she "ran the place!" Kenneth left her side on June 2, 2013, and now they are finally reunited in Glory.

She will be deeply missed by the ones that she leaves behind. Those are two daughters, Tammie Runions and Wanda Hinson (Rodney), both of Hohenwald; two sons, Darin Runions (Amber) and Scotty Runions, both of Hohenwald; one sister, Carolyn Hammons of Hohenwald; two brothers, Bruce Curtis and Joe Curtis, also of Hohenwald; grandchildren, Zachary Hinson, Jordan Sublett, Brandon Staggs, Jarrod Hinson, Preston Perdue, Andrew Cummings, and Ja'ce Runions; great grandchildren, Brenton Hinson and Khloe Staggs.

Along with her husband and parents, she joins in Heaven her siblings, James Curtis, Stanley Curtis, Frank Curtis, Loyd Curtis, Tom Curtis, Donnie Curtis, Ruby Barnett and Lynda Devore.

Funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Blondy Church with Bill Webb and Jeff Gandy officiating. Burial followed in Pisgah Cemetery in Maury County.

McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. assisted the family with arrangements.
