Norma Hunter

Norma Rebecca Hunter, age 91, a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday morning, July 2, 2020 at NHC Columbia.

A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at 2 p.m. at The Lighthouse Church of Jesus Christ with Bro. Darrell Thrasher, Bro. Eric Redd and Bro. Bill Webb officiating. She was laid to rest on Monday, July 6, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Polk Memorial Gardens. Heritage Funeral Home assised the family with arrangements.

Born on June 5, 1929 in Hohenwald, Norma was the daughter of the late James Walter Reed and the late Dalphia May Pollock Reed.

In 1957, Norma's husband, Lewis Hunter, starter Hunter's Body Shop of Columbia. She was a faithful and devoted member of The Lighthouse Church of Jesus Christ. She enjoyed staying at home cooking and keeping her house clean. Norma was a people person who loved her family.

She is survived by her daughters:, Sherry (Keith) Casteel of Columbia and Barbara Howard of Columbia; brothers, Wayne (Debbie) Reed of Columbia and Rev. Larry (Carla) Reed of Laurel, Mississippi; sister, Helen Margaret Conner of Columbia; grandchildren, David Lewis "D.L." Howard, Rebecca Brinkley, Tammy Erwin, Stephanie Pagan and April Redd; great grandchildren, Jazmine Pagan, Lexie Pagan, Briley Redd, Rylan Redd, Felishia Ragsdale, Brooklyn Howard, Bryleigh Kirland, Coleman Brinkley and Bella Brinkley; and great, great grandchildren, Matthew Ragsdale, Noah Ragsdale, Gracie Ragsdal, and Eli Fitzgerald.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Hunter, and brother, Jerry Reed.

The family requests memorial donations be made to The Lighthouse Church of Jesus Christ: 2000 Williamsport Pike, Columbia, TN 38401.
