Bettye Jane (Brown) Ammons of Hohenwald, passed from this life to her eternal home on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at the age of 92.
Born on October 3, 1927 to James and Ida Brown, Bettye lived a long and very full life on this earth. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. Bettye was married to the love of her life and her best friend, Glen Ammons, for over 70 years. She worked as a bookkeeper for her father for many years until her and her husband bought the Ben Franklin Store. She then ran Ben Franklin until her retirement. She helped many people during her tenure at the store.
Above all, her relationship with God was the most important thing to Bettye. She was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Christ for over 80 years.
Along with her husband, Glen, she is survived by her son, Lynn (Jan) Ammons of Hohenwald; two grandsons, Garrett (Carlee) Ammons of Nashville and Desi Ammons of Columbia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, J.B. Brown; and three sisters, Wilma Massey, Dickie Carroll and Eurnice Floyd.
Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 10 in the McDonald Funeral Home chapel in Hohenwald. Burial followed in the Downey Cemetery.
