Local elderly man missing; trail ends on county road

An unsuccessful search for an elderly Lewis County man who has been missing since July 17, 2020, has left local officials puzzled and at a dead end.

A 2002 Honda Civic, owned by Dean Elvis Berube, 76, and his wife, was found abandoned on Springer Road by a rural mail carrier. Local deputies responded and went to the residence on Dyestone Springs Road.

Mrs. Berube reported her husband left home around 7:30 p.m. on July 17 and had not returned. Mr. Berube has dementia, a law enforcement report stated.
