The Lewis County High School golf team opened their 2020 schedule at Hohenwald Municipal Golf Course on Monday afternoon, August 3rd, hosting Perry County and Loretto. This year's golf team is comprised of one girl, Jayden Harris, and three boys, Andon Lowery, Brody Whitlow, and Kerry Reynolds. In the opening match, Lewis County had Harris, Lowery, and Reynolds, no team score was kept and only individual for all three.
In girl's play, Averee Coble of Perry County was low medalist, shooting a 41. Linley Choate of Perry County shot a 48, and Mylie Dunkle shot a 49. Lewis County's Jayden Harris shot a 57 to finish fourth, and the two Loretto golfers finished fifth and sixth. Perry County defeated Loretto in the team matchup, 89-120.
In boys play, Perry County's Jax Plunkett was low medalist with a 38, Logan Hickerson of Perry County shot a 39, and Lewis County's Andon Lowery was third with a 42. Kerry Reynolds of Lewis County finished with a 56. Perry County defeated Loretto in the team matchup, 169-202.
LCHS Golf team in action
The Lewis County High School golf team had their first road match on Tuesday, August 4, traveling to Pulaski for matches against Richland High School and Loretto High School at Hillcrest Country Club.
In girl's play, Lewis County's Jayden Harris shot a 70 to finish second. There were no team matchups for the girls.
In boys play, Lewis County's Andon Lowery was low medalist, finishing with an even-par 36 while out-pacing Richland's Luke Jones, who finished 2nd with a 41. Lewis County golfers Brody Whitlow (54) and Kerry Reynolds (63) finished 7th and 9th respectively.In the team matchups. Richland won the match with a 141, followed by Loretto with a 152 and Lewis County with a 153.
LCHS Golf team at BRCC
The Lewis County High School golf team traveled to Lobelville on Thursday, August 6 for matches with Perry County and Summertown at the Buffalo River Country Club..
In girl's play, Lewis County's Jayden Harris shot a 61 to finish fifth. In the team matchup, Summertown defeated Perry County 88-103.
In boys play, Summertown's Cole Campbell was low medalist, shooting a 33. Jaxx Plunkett of Perry County was second with a 35. Lewis County's Andon Lowery finished the day with a 41, Brody Whitlow (50) and Kerry Reynolds (54) finished 12th and 15th respectively.In the team matchups, Perry County won with a 154.
LCHS plays at MPCC
The Lewis County High School golf team travelled to Mount Pleasant on Tuesday, August 18th for matches with Hampshire and Summertown (boys) at Mt. Pleasant Country Club.
In girl's play, Lewis County's Jayden Harris shot a 63 to finish ahead of the only other girl competing on the day, Lily Parsons of Hampshire, who finished with a 65.
In boys play, Summertown's Cole Campbell and Hampshire's Kennon Anderson brought the low score in, each shooting a 38. Lewis County's Andon Lowery finished third on the day with a 40. Brody Whitlow shot a 52 and Kerry Reynolds a 64 for the Panthers.The Summertown boys were the low team with a 126 and Lewis County finished with a 156.
The LCHS golf team returned to Hohenwald Municipal Golf Course for a home match on Thursday, August 20 against Cornersville, Richland and Loretto.
LCHS Golf at Dixie Oaks
The Lewis County High School golf team traveled to Dixie Oaks Golf Club in Summertown for matches with Summertown, Perry County, and Richland on Monday, August 24, 2020.
In girls' play, Summertown's Lanie Campbell was low medalist with a 38.
Summertown won the girls' team matches with a 77, Perry County finished second with a 108, and Loretto finished third with a 123.
In boys' play, Summertown's Cole Campbell finished as low medalist with a 35.
Lewis County's Andon Lowery finished with a 45, Brody Whitlow had a 46, and Kerry Reynolds shot a 65.
Summertown won the boys' team matches with a 114, Perry County was second with a 129, Richland third with a 146, Lewis County fourth with a 156 and Loretto fifth with a 169.
The LCHS golf team will travel to Skyview in Centerville for a match with Hickman County High School on Thursday, August 27.
LCHS Golf Early Week Match
The Lewis County High School golf team traveled to Summertown on Monday, August 10 for a four team matchup with Summertown, Perry County, Richland and Cornersville at Dixie Oaks Golf Club.
In girl's play, Lewis County's Jayden Harris shot a 56 to finish sixth in a large group of girls. Summertown's Kaley Campbell was low medalist with a 36. In the team matchup, Summertown (75) defeated Perry County (104) and Cornersville (106).
In boys play, Summertown's Cole Campbell was low medalist, shooting a 36. Logan Hickerson of Perry County was second with a 37, and Lewis County's Andon Lowery tied with Jaxx Plunkett of Perry County with a 38 at third. Brody Whitlow finished in the top ten with a 46 and Kerry Reynolds (56) finished tied for 16th. In the team matchups, Perry County won t with a 118, Summertown finished second with a 120, Lewis County a 140, and Richland a 145 .
Panther Head Coach Tim Tiller has seen improvement in the early season. "Our boys and our lone girl on the team are beginning to show improvement every match," Tiller said. "We are thankful to be able to compete amidst this pandemic, and this has brought a bit of normalcy during these unpredictable times," he concluded.
The LCHS golf team returned to Hohenwald Municipal Golf Course for a home match on Tuesday, August 11 against Summertown, Hickman County, and Hampshire before taking a week off to prepare for the Tennessee River Classic.
