A meeting was held at the court house to discuss the need for a Public Housing Authority in Hohenwald. The meeting was held in compliance with a petition signed by 25 residents of Hohenwald and the surrounding area. An architect from Atlanta was present who explained the process of setting up a Public Housing Authority.

Burglars broke into Penny’s Clothing Store and Ammons Market. Change and small personal items were taken from Penny’s store, but nothing was taken from Ammons despite pennies being left in the cash register.
