Gordonsburg/Little Swan News

Fall has really arrived. The leaves are falling in bunches. On patios and porches where they fall, you will need to sweep every day to keep them all off. The foliage in the woods is just beautiful beyond compare. God really paints some magnificent pictures for us to view. I hope you are able to be out and enjoy the scenery provided for your pleasure.

We express sympathy to the families of Ryley Lewis Treadwell, Polly Lee Chessor Lancaster, Edward Knob Minyard, Betty June Sylvis, and Wm. Paul Dunn. Prayers for these families and any other families who have lost loved ones.

School is on fall break this week, so be careful as you travel around and watch for the children who might be playing close to the roadways. Sometimes even adults are careless and forget to look where they are going. Just pay attention to the surroundings as you travel around. I know that many families use this time for a quick vacation getaway and will be traveling so wish for them a safe return home. Oktober Heritage Festival is also in the works, so there is plenty to do in the area and lots of yard sales to visit, if that is your thing. There are also lots of food vendors if you get hungry along the way. I always love to get hot apple fritters. They are so good and fresh. Pork rinds are also a treat. Maybe you have a special one that you like, too.

Although visiting in some nursing homes and rehab centers has been restored with restrictions, it would still be nice to receive a card or call to those who have phones available. Also phone or send cards to those sick or shut-in. One day we may find ourselves in this situation and wish for someone to show they care for us.

Praying you have a great week and that you are blessed with happiness and health. Money cannot buy these gifts, so treasure them if they are yours. Remember to do good to those who are close to you and help to take care of them in ways they need that you may not even know.
