Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898
Janice Dorine (Louque) Sisco of Columbia passed from this life to another on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at the age of 70.
Dorine was born on October 11, 1949, to Philip and Violet Louque in Waynesboro. She met the love of her life and her best friend, Mike Sisco, when she was in first grade. They graduated from Lewis County High School in 1967 and eventually married on December 26, 1970. Their greatest achievement came when they welcomed their son, Eddie, to the world. After many years of living in different parts of the United States, the family finally moved closer to home and settled in Columbia.
Dorine was the rock of her family and the most positive person to be around. She will be missed beyond measure. Dorine was an exceptional artist with a realistic touch. She loved arts and crafts and sewing anything from her own draperies to making quilts for loved ones.
Along with her husband, Mike, and son, Eddie, she is survived by one sister, Carol Cooper of Mt. Dora, Florida, and a tremendous number of beloved friends and extended family. Her nieces and nephews were very special to her.
Dorine will be laid to rest in Graves Cemetery, a peaceful part of Sinking Creek where her mother, aunts and uncles grew up.
Dorine's funeral service will be held Sunday, October 11. Due to COVID issues continuing to linger and social distancing required, the church service will be private for invited family and close friends.
Services will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2020 (Invitation only) at Hohenwald Methodist Church.
Graveside service (open to the public) will take place at 4:00 p.m. at Graves Cemetery, 11 miles from Hohenwald on Highway 48 South (toward Waynesboro).
Donations in memory of Dorine may be made to The King's Daughters' School, attention: Dorine Sisco Memorial, 412 W. 9th St., Columbia, TN 38401.
