Celebrate National Friends of the Library Week
In celebration of National Friends of the Library Week, Friends of the Lewis County Public Library is hosting a Book & Beverage Sale outside the library on Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
With books for all ages, movies, and magazines on sale, attendees will also be able to purchase hot cocoa, hot cider, bottled water and homemade sweets. Friends members will also be accepting donations of old, working cell phones, tablets, and laptops for a recycling fundraiser. All proceeds will benefit library projects, including the Library Expansion Project.
The Lewis County Library Expansion Project is an exciting plan to double the size of the existing facility with increased meeting spaces, improved study and computer areas for patrons, more restrooms, and a large storage space for county archives. This nearly $1-million-dollar project also includes upgrades to the current library that would include ADA compliance throughout the facility, and improved parking outside.
A display with an architects rendering of the Library Expansion Project will be set up during the book sale. Attendees may donate to this project and have the opportunity to join Friends of the Library. All donations towards the expansion project are tax deductible.
