Bertram Adolphis "Bert" Moore, III, age 73 of Hohenwald, passed away at his residence on Monday evening, October 12, 2020.
He was born in Memphis to the late Bertram Moore, Jr. and Modena (Spain) Moore Scott on September 28, 1947. He was a graduate of Overton High School and a graduate of the University of Memphis, where he obtained his Masters Degree.
Mr. Moore was the president of the Lewis County Bank from 1992 - 1996 and was instrumental in helping Bob Gafford find a buyer of the bank, at that time Community South Bank. He was the initial loan officer for the Elephant Sanctuary.
In 1996, he then went to work for the First Bank in Parsons, where he worked until 2000. In 2000, he went to work as a financial manager for Oliver Technologies, where he worked up until his passing.
Other accomplishments include being past president of the Chamber of Commerce, local advisory board for CB&S Bank, board chairman for the Lewis County Health Center, board member for the Arts Council and treasurer for the Hohenwald United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Moore; step-mother, Bettie Moore; sons, Ben (Christie) Moore and Beltram Moore IV; brothers, Rick Moore and Jonathan Scott; sisters, Rebekah Rayborn and Ruth Pasarela; six grandchildren, Tristan Moore, Gavin Moore, Eric (Danielle) Hillhouse, Madeleine Moore, Quinn Moore and Thaddeus Moore; and one great-grandchild, Samuel Hillhouse.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bertram Moore Jr., mother, Modena (Spain) Scott, step-father, Jack Scott, and brothers, Terry Moore and Joseph Scott.
Funeral service was held at the Hohenwald United Methodist Church Friday, October 17. Burial followed in the Oliver Cemetery in Perry County.
McDonald Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
