Seven members of Confederate Gray Chapter 2681 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy attended the 124th Annual Tennessee Division Convention on October 9th and 10th, held at the newly renovated Pickwick State Park Convention Center.
Temperature checks and face mask mandates did not dampen the enthusiasm of the attendees. Division business was conducted and officers for the 2020-2022 year were elected.
Attending were Johnnia Elkins, Cynthia Kilpatrick, Lugene Hudspeth, Kristy Bradford, Jeanell Kutterer, Darlene Johns and Kathryn Kozlinski.
Jeanell Kutterer and Darlene Johns served as Pages for the event.
Confederate Gray Chapter received the following Medium Chapter Awards:
2nd Place - Most Supplements Approved by General
3rd Place – Number of Non-Fiction Books on Confederate or Southern History Donated to Libraries
2nd Place – Records of Interment for Confederate Veterans
3rd Place – Number of Southern/Confederate Books Read by Members
3rd Place – Number of Southern/Confederate Books and Media Donated to Libraries
2nd Place – Contributions to Veterans Needs
Division Volunteer Awards were presented to Betty Barber, Darlene Johns, and Charity Moss.
Senator Joey Hensley was a special guest on Friday afternoon as the recipient of the Judah P. Benjamin Award for his dedication and work in defense of Confederate Monuments and Statues. This award is given to honor individuals for their outstanding civic, conservation, educational, environmental, humanitarian, or patriotic endeavors and achievements.
