Wanda Lomax

Wanda Gail Lomax of Hohenwald, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia following a battle with Covid-19.

Wanda Gail was born on April 6, 1950, in Waynesboro, to Hubert Charles "Rod" and Pamela Odell (Higgins) Luna. She was a home health worker at Health Angels for a number of years. Every patient that she had thought she was the best. If you knew Wanda, you knew her love for the beach and the creek. Her best days were spent floating in a creek somewhere. She was a member of the Kimmins Church of Christ. Above all, her grandchildren were the light of her life.

Wanda Gail is survived by her son, Rodney Lomax of Hohenwald; daughter, Dacia Lomax McEvers of Columbia; brother, Bill Luna of Hohenwald; sister, Jerrie Kelley of Hohenwald; grandchildren, Khrysten (Chance) Fielder of Culleoka, Kassi (Ethan) Holloway of Hohenwald, and Dylan Lomax of Knoxville; great-grandchild, Kinsley Holloway; 11 nieces and nephews, and her special friends, Shirley Martin, Patsy James, and Peggy Cagle - The Golden Girls.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret McGee, Jean Hinson, and Lanell Luna.

Graveside services were held on Wednesday, October 28, at 1:00 p.m. at Wayne County Memorial Gardens with Johnny Clayton officiating.

McDonald Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
