Gordonsburg/Little Swan News

Series: Gordonsburg | Story 30

The weather during the two days usually celebrated with Thanksgiving was rather mild during the day and cool at night, allowing many to be outside part of the day. Of course it didn’t hinder the hunters who were looking for that big buck. Saturday was cool just about all day and then on Sunday it was cool to cold most of the day with rain starting off in the early evening and continuing through most of the night. Monday was really cold with low thirties early and dropping lower in the mid-morning. Some even reported seeing snow flurries during the morning before the rain moved out. The weather people were calling for more snow flurries. It is supposed to be cold all week and that I don’t like, but can’t do anything about it so just tolerate it as it comes. December may come in with a bang if it does have snow flurries this early.

Thanksgiving has come and gone and I hope that you and yours had a great time celebrating and celebrate we should for we, in this nation, have been so blessed and are blessed every day. We need to consider those in countries where they are not free to do the things we enjoy and do not have all the physical things we enjoy, like the freedom to worship without fear when people are healthy. We enjoy so many things that others do not.

The children are now counting the days till Christmas. They will soon be out of school for the holiday and that will be a long break for them.

Remember the Christmas parade will be tonight, Thursday, as it has been since I was a little girl and that is a long time. Please be sure you are not sick if you attend and make sure your children are protected as they look for candy along the way.

Praying that you and your family will have a great week. Enjoy your family because we never know when things will change and someone will be missing from that group. We sometimes take too much for granted and forget how just one day in our lives can change everything.
